Thoughts & Prayers

Masculine cards have always been challenging for me. Especially their interiors. However, this one was easy because it was a religious event. I love the button punch from Martha Stewart. Thicker card-stock is definitely the way to go, since the punch also embosses the edges. You can thread string or other materials through the button holes for more dimension, just be sure you have an appropriate form of adhesive. Brads are always good for masculine cards, and I like to use more earth tone color palettes.

Thankful Blue Bird

Spring Time Thank-You card! I love this bird and branch (from a cricut cartridge). This is not a clear photo, but I touched the bird's beak and the leaves with glossy accents for more texture. WalMart has started carrying g-studio embellishments, and what's cooler than a sticker button? There are lots of rub-ons that would work in place of "thankful". I like rub-ons for placement purposes, but prefer stamps because you can use them more than just the one time. This stamp said "so thankful" but I covered "so" with tape, and removed after inking but before placement.
